What Happens in a Session
Prior to seeing any athlete, I speak to them on the phone to assess their personal needs before then sending them a form to fill out. This form contains important questions including the following:
* What do you want from a session?
* How will you know when you have it?
The athlete form needs to be returned prior to the first appointment. Many athletes have discovered that even the act of filling in the form often has a useful effect in itself!
Mental Peak Performance Coaching is not like seeing a sport psychologist, it’s not psychological counseling. I don’t treat “problems” or do therapy.
I use a combination of different skills in client sessions that can include NLP, closed eyes visualization, hypnosis and other approaches. Many athletes are surprised at the success of this non analytical targeted approach, which has been described as being very different to what most athletes are used to an expect.
Each session is recorded and I often email the an MP3 recording of the session to listen to before a follow up meeting. I had success with a addressing most of athletes issues in 1 to 2 sessions depending on their specific needs. Sessions typically last about an hour and can be done in-person or over the phone.
